(2006)Bobby tells that on Tuesday, June 4, 1968, the California Presidential primary takes place. Robert F. Kennedy arrives at the Ambassador Hotel early in the morning and plans to campaign throughout the day before delivering a speech to his supporters at midnight. The film portrays the atmosphere of the late 1960s by showing various vignettes at the hotel. A couple marries to avoid the Vietnam War, kitchen staff discusses race relations and baseball, infidelity and racism are exposed, a retired hotel doorman enjoys a game of chess with an old friend in the lobby, a campaign strategist's wife desperately needs a pair of black shoes, and two campaign staff members unknowingly take LSD. Meanwhile, a lounge singer's career is on a decline. Throughout the day, Robert F. Kennedy's speeches call for a better society and a better nation.
