Watch Bottle Shock
(2008)Bottle Shock tells that the year is 1976, and Steven Spurrier, a Parisian sommelier, embarks on a journey to Napa Valley to source the best wines for a blind taste test against French wines in Paris. During his trip, he encounters Jim Barrett, the owner of Chateau Montelena, who is working tirelessly to perfect his chardonnay, despite the fact that his estate is deeply mortgaged. Jim's relationship with his son Bo and his foreman Gustavo is strained, especially since Gustavo, a Mexican farmworker's son, is secretly making his own wine. Meanwhile, Sam, a free-spirited UC Davis graduate student, is romantically interested in both Gustavo and Bo. While Steven Spurrier organizes the renowned "Judgment of Paris," Jim is hesitant to take part, but Bo sees it as their sole opportunity to prove themselves. Ultimately, Barrett's chardonnay, with its buttery notes and Smithsonian finish, stands out in the competition.
