synopsis

Broken tells the story of an innocent and naive Skunk (Eloise Laurence), an 11-year-old girl who lives with her father, brother, and a foreign exchange student. In a chance encounter, Skunk discovers her neighbor Bob (Rory Kinnear) beating up a young man named Rick (Robert Emms), who he claims raped his daughter. However, in Skunk's eyes, Rick is not a vicious person, and despite being socially awkward, it doesn't overshadow his kindness. Bob's violence doesn't subside with a single assault, and he seems to be planning even more terrifying things. With this violent event as a turning point, the world in Skunk's eyes suddenly reveals its true face: the indifference and selfishness of the adult world are all displayed before her eyes.
