Watch Dick
(1999)Dick tells that the year is 2005, and Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, reporters for the Washington Post, still refuse to disclose the identity of their informant, Deep Throat, who helped them uncover the Watergate scandal and bring down President Richard Nixon. Flashback to June 17, 1972, where teenage friends Betsy Jobs and Arlene Lorenzo are obsessing over teen heartthrob Bobby Sherman, while Arlene's mother lives in the Watergate complex. While wandering the complex, they spot an unfamiliar man. The following day on a White House field trip, they recognize him as G. Gordon Liddy, one of the men involved in the Watergate break-in. Afraid that the girls might implicate him, Liddy hires someone to deal with them. To keep them under surveillance, President Nixon hires the girls as youth policy advisors in an unofficial capacity. As they gain access to the White House, they witness illegal activities by the administration. But with their focus on the likes of Bobby Sherman, it remains to be seen if they will recognize the gravity of what they are seeing and what they will do with the information.
