Watch Fury
(2014)In April 1945, the Nazi Germany had come to an end, the Second World War was coming to an end, and the war was being fought against Germany itself. During a break, Norman, a typist with no battlefield experience, is assigned to Don's tank, the Fury. Both Pitt's squad covering the Army's attack, and (the personal highlight) the three Shermans tangling with the Tigers. The perfect representation of the happiness and fear of the non-German tankers of World War II. They were the emperors of the battlefield when faced with an army charge. Hard front armor, superior supplies (Pitt even helped Private Norman seduce a little MM, on 6 eggs). But when faced with an angry German Tiger, the only thing you could do was cross your fingers and pray that you got behind the Tiger's 88mm gun before it aimed at you. In Germany in April 1945, the war was bloody and brutal. Bodies crushed into two-dimensional shapes by tanks, boy scouts, blood, mud. All of this speaks to the viewer of the preciousness of peace. In this respect, Fury is perfect.
