Watch Iris
(2001)Iris tells the dramatized story of novelist and philosopher Iris Murdoch, who was regarded as one of the most brilliant voices of her generation, depicting her later years and her marriage to critic and writer John Bayley. Against the background of their late-life relationship, particularly his doting on her, as she was once a student while he was a professor at Oxford University, their courtship is often shown in flashbacks, with their union not always apparent in her more secular worldview, especially concerning sex and libido, as well as his lack of experience and prudish views.
