synopsis

Let It Shine is a family movie directed by Paul Hoen and released in 2012. The story of Cyrus DeBarge, a musically talented but shy teenager, is set in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, where his father, a traditional and conservative pastor, doesn't think that the hip-hop music Cyrus loves conveys any positive attitudes. Cyrus and his best friend Kris, who he grew up with, were delighted that their childhood friend Roxxie was now a popular teen idol and that her record label was about to launch a songwriting competition for her. Cyrus is not brave enough to stand up for himself and watch Kris win Roxxie's heart... Now how will Cyrus overcome his weakness and stand up for his dream?
