The film is adapted from a delightful children's book by Bernard Waber and published in 1965. The Primm family moves into a house on East 88th Street in New York City, and the family's son makes friends with a cute and friendly crocodile named Lyle. Lyle. The son Josh develops a deep friendship during the danger, and the family helps Lyle to overcome his stage fright when he performs on the stage. At the same time, they endeavor to protect him from the danger outside.
