synopsis

During Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the intoxicated Santa Claus is replaced by an older man named Kris Kringle. Kris becomes a sensation and is hired to be the store Santa, but Doris, the special events director, is concerned when he insists he is the honest Santa Claus. Meanwhile, Doris has taught her daughter to reject all beliefs in fantasy. As Kris spreads the true spirit of Christmas, he is held at Bellevue for failing a mental examination. With the help of Fred Gailey, Kris's lawyer, they attempt to prove that Kris is Santa Claus in a bizarre hearing. A miracle may be needed for Kris to win.
