synopsis

Carly and her friend Melanie, who are serving as Peace Corps volunteers in Africa, are wrongly accused of drug trafficking by the corrupt justice system. Even though Carly's mother offers bribes, they are sentenced to eleven years in a prison where the warden is immoral and forces female prisoners into prostitution. Tragically, Melanie is subjected to gang rape by the guards and takes her own life. Without assistance from the U.S. Embassy, Carly must flee in order to stay alive.
