synopsis

Rampart tells that Dave Brown is an LAPD officer stationed at Rampart Division, known for his womanizing, racism, and brutal violence. Despite the defense of his actions as equal opportunity, he has gained the nickname "Date Rape Dave" for allegedly murdering a suspected serial date rapist. He lives with his two ex-wives, Barbara and Catherine, and their two daughters in an attempt to keep the family together. Dave maintains sexual relationships with both sisters and openly has other sexual relationships. When caught on video brutally beating a person after a car crash, Dave's life is put under the microscope due to the Rampart scandal. A further potentially scandalous incident involving a grocery store hold-up adds to his troubles. Despite having some secret defenders among the police department higher-ups, Dave must navigate who he can trust while trying to protect his values from being tarnished by the scandals.
