She is famous for inventing the "hug box," now recognized as a stress-relieving tool for autistic children, as well as her humane designs for cattle treatment in processing plants. Her achievements have been chronicled in several books and have earned her an award from PETA. Currently, she is a professor at Colorado State University and a highly-regarded speaker on autism and animal handling.
