synopsis

The Bishop's Wife tells that episcopal Bishop Henry Brougham has dedicated himself to building a grand cathedral, relying on a wealthy widow to fund the project. In the process, he becomes distant from his family and loses sight of his true calling as a clergyman. However, everything changes when Dudley, an angel, arrives to assist him. Dudley's unconventional ways of helping people create mixed reactions, and Henry starts to fear that Dudley is here to replace him, both in his work and in his family's hearts, as Christmas draws near.
