Watch The Kite Runner
(2007)The Kite Runner tells that in the 1970s, in Afghanistan, two boys named Amir and Hassan, one Pushtun and the other Hazara, grow up together as best friends in Amir's father's house in a peaceful Kabul. However, Amir feels that his father prefers Hassan over him, and he also blames himself for his mother's death during childbirth. Amir's father's best friend, Rahim Khan, encourages Amir's passion for writing. After winning a kite competition, Hassan retrieves Amir's kite for him but is brutally beaten and raped by a bully named Assef, while Amir watches in cowardice. Later, Amir frames Hassan as a thief, leading to his father firing Hassan's father, Ali, and the boys' friendship falling apart. In 1979, the Soviet Union invades Afghanistan, and Amir and his father flee to Pakistan. Years later, Amir graduates from college in California, where he meets and marries Soraya, an Afghan woman. After Amir's father dies, he receives a call from Rahim Khan, who reveals family secrets and urges Amir to return to Pakistan for redemption.
