synopsis

Valentine tells that in 1988, at a school dance on Valentine's Day, Jeremy Melton is repeatedly rejected by popular girls when asking them to dance. Finally, a plump girl agrees to dance with him, and they end up making out under the bleachers. When a group of bullies catches them, the girl lies and claims that Jeremy attacked her. The bullies then strip and beat him in front of the whole school. Fast forward to 2001, and we meet the five girls who were at the dance and the formerly plump Dorothy. In the lead-up to Valentine's Day, these twenty-somethings are struggling to figure out their romantic lives. One of the girls is murdered by a killer wearing a Cherub mask, who had previously sent her a threatening Valentine's card. After the remaining girls are reunited at the funeral, they all start receiving threatening messages. They suspect that Jeremy, who had disappeared, might be responsible, but police records reveal that his appearance is unknown. Could he have had plastic surgery and become one of the girls' boyfriends? The sole survivor must stop the killer's rampage before she, too, becomes a victim.
