Watch Walking with Dinosaurs
(2013)The overarching plot follows a small and unconventional dinosaur who overcomes various challenges throughout his growth. It's a familiar storyline that lacks innovation. The CGI effects are impressive, and the inclusion of footprints in the dirt enhances the realism of the dinosaurs. It's difficult to discern whether the background is computer-generated or actual footage with added dinosaurs. The movie's framing device involving a teenage protagonist in modern-day Alaska, who resists visiting his uncle, is unnecessary and a waste of time. Every time a new dinosaur appears on screen, the film freezes and displays the creature's name along with its etymology, which is disruptive to the narrative flow. Additionally, the dinosaurs refer to each other by scientific names, which seems unrealistic. The dialogue is at times overly cutesy and incorporates modern-world references.
