synopsis

Buffy Anne Summers only wants to be a typical adolescent after relocating to Sunnydale, California. She accidentally set fire to the gym of her former high school while she was back in Los Angeles; her first Watcher had passed away, and her parents had separated. She and her mother, Joyce, are expected to start over after relocating to Sunnydale. But when she eventually meets Rupert Giles, the school librarian, she immediately realizes she cannot change her fate. She grudgingly resumes her duties as the Slayer now that Giles is her new Watcher. But she is not battling by herself this time. She now has a close group of pals willing to battle beside her and drive in a stake or two if necessary.
